Who is Learnlife for?
Learnlife is for families who want to step beyond traditional school and experience an education that combines strong academics with real-world learning, purpose and passion. It is not for families looking for rigid, one-size-fits-all learning that's focused on exams.
We offer primary and secondary learning programmes for children aged 6 to 18 in three inspiring hubs in Barcelona, Castelldefels and Sant Pere de Ribes/Sitges.
Learnlife Urban Hub Barcelona, Ages 12-18
Located in the heart of Barcelona, the Urban Hub is an accredited international secondary school where learners can earn an American High School Diploma and the Spanish ESO Certificate while developing a portfolio of projects and real-world experiences.
Learnlife Eco Hub Castelldefels, Ages 6-12
Located in Castelldefels, steps from the beach and surrounded by a pine forest, the Eco Hub offers an environment where nature, play, and project-based learning support curiosity and strong academic foundations.
Learnlife Village Hub Sitges, Ages 10-16
The Village Hub near Sitges and Sant Pere de Ribes provides a modern, open learning environment where learners collaborate in creative studios, develop their passions and explore interdisciplinary projects.

How does learning happen?
A day at Learnlife has lots of similarities to what you expect at school. The big differences are:
Learners follow a competency-based curriculum. This means we help them build critical real-life skills alongside academics, such as analytical thinking, lifelong learning, and creativity, rather than just memorisation and knowledge sharing.
Learners take ownership of their learning. They have choices within a structured schedule and have dedicated time to explore their passions. For example, for a creative writing project, one learner could choose to produce an anime comic and another learner a poem.
Learning is authentic, meaningful and linked to the real world. For example, rather than doing maths in a workbook, learners may be using calculations to design a house that's protected from natural disasters.
Learners experience different ways of learning, helping them discover how they learn best. This nurtures a lifelong love of learning that stays with them for life.
Our curriculum (the Learnlife Competency Model) aligns with the local Ministry of Education and is closely associated with the American curriculum.

Our Urban Hub is a fully accredited school. Our Eco and Village Hubs are provisionally accredited, with full accreditation in progress.
Absolutely. Our graduates attend top universities worldwide, as well as becoming entrepreneurs, starting their careers, and following their passions. We support all learners with personal mentorship and portfolio development to help them get to their chosen destination.
We use authentic, skill-based assessment. Your child's holistic progress is captured live throughout the year in their Learning Vitae, with regular showcases and learner-led conferences where they share their learning with you.
Yes. We prioritise deep learning and foundational skills in literacy and numeracy, integrated with real-world application.
We blend freedom with clear schedules and expectations. Learners have a choice within a safe, guided framework, building confidence and self-regulation as they grow.
Our community is globally diverse, with families from 30+ nationalities. Around a third of families are Spanish, and around 20% join Learnlife from the USA and the UK. Most families live in Barcelona, Castelldefels, Sitges and along the coast.
Our Hubs are easily accessible by public transport and by car. There are also parent-organised minibuses that help get children to our Hubs, for example, from Barcelona to Castelldefels.
